I have a great interest in video games, but I also love tabletop games like D&D and Pathfinder, which are both great options to play if you've never taken the leap. Every once in a while I come across a video game that reminds me of the tabletop experience. This one is no exception. Esoteric Ebb is a lovely addition to this category of games and I think any fan of Baldur's Gate would appreciate this game.
Character
You start off as a cleric. No choice there, buddy. And while you can't really change your name or personalize the character, you can choose background options that make the character interesting. I was admittedly a little disappointed by the lack of ability to define who your character is, but as I played, it wasn't that awful.
You just have to accept that you're playing a specific character.
Story
When you wake up, you don't remember anything but you're in the morgue. Even worse, you have the voices of your stats in your head (Wisdom, Strength, and so on). The stats have their own personalities, and they can be pretty funny. The developers definitely made this game with a sense of humor.
Recently risen from the dead, you have to investigate a recent act of terrorism and discover who killed you (and why) alongside a fabulous goblin sidekick. This game is filled with choices that allow you to run amuck and do everything but the story, should you choose to. And finally, the game has an interesting focus on an upcoming election, which probably means something in terms of the story.
Art
I surely didn't need a whole section for this, but I really wanted to drive home my love for the style of this game. It has a hand-drawn feel to it in a 3D style. I am enamored with the art decisions, and I eagerly await the day I can add this to my collection of games.

If you are a fan of Baldur's Gate, D&D, or any other tabletop game, this is something you should definitely try out. The DEMO is available on Steam. 10/10 Recommend. If you try the demo, let me know how you felt about it down below.
Until next time, gamer!
