Fable Postponed 'til 2026

You hate to see it, gamers. The newest installation of Fable has been, unfortunately, postponed to 2026. Initially, I was saddened by such disheartening news. Fable was one of the first RPGs I ever played, and I've been on the edge of my seat waiting for this game since it was announced. But after Microsoft's latest flop (*cough* Avowed), they are walking the tight-ropes. Another game failure could drop them into the deep-end and they have so many games on the agenda for the year.

It seems they want to put much more effort into Fable's release. I am pretty sure we all agree that if the game needs more time, give it time. It's my preference, anyway. The worst thing they can do is rush the release of one of my favorite game franchises and come out with a game reminiscent of Fable III.

Looking back at the clips we have from 2024, I remain very excited. The graphics look better than they ever have for Fable, and the cut-scenes are incredible. It's really feeling like it's going to beat the undisputed champion of all their games, Fable II. I am wondering, though, where the game is lacking. Is it a timeline issue or do they want to refine it? Are they adding features?

If they're adding features, allow me to provide a list of things I am hoping to see:

• Customization Options: This will always be a thing for me. I am hoping if they haven't added it already that they do add it in. Customization adds real flavor. ✨

• Real-estate: One of my favorite parts of Fable was the ability to buy houses and shops. I do hope they continue this in the newest installation. Forget being a hero, let me be the property-mogul I was born to be.

• Arena: I'm sure I'm asking too much, but some sort of built-in arena like the Crucible would be sick. It doesn't even have to be tied to the story. Just an endless combat simulator would be fun for testing out spells and abilities, and snagging achievements.

• Hero HQ: Are we going to have a sick headquarters? Any chance the Guild of Heroes making a reappearance? I'd eat that up, honestly.

• Morality Bar: The morality bar is peak Fable. If the morality bar isn't in here then I'll be shocked at the blatant disregard of original content.

In all, I can't wait for this game to come out. I suppose I should have known better than to hope for release this year, but we will overcome the woes. Is there anything you're hoping to see in the new game? Let me know down below!
